The hotel building has been in Misakicho 30 years which was at that time the center of Ishigaki and was renovated into emeraldisle hotel in 2015.
We try to have people from outside of the islands interact with local people (=Shimanchu) and culture.
And also we provide a space and encourage local arts, craft and designers to exhibit their creations and we want to create a hub og activity for visiters and locals alike. We don’ t want to be just a regular hotel.
There is also a remote island terminal at Ishigaki Port near the hotel, and the view from the rooftop is a wonderful location, such as the harbor, ships coming and going, buildings, the islands of Yaeyama, and the sunset.
