13-km long river flowing from Arume in Higashi-son to Genka in Nago City. At one stage, river pollution led to the disappearance of the Ryukyu Ayu fish from the river, but thanks to the efforts of the local community, the waters regained their clear flows, and the Ayu are gradually returning with outflows. Has a relatively wide river bed, rare among Okinawan rivers.
