Yachimun means “pottery” or ceramics. In the Ryukyu Kingdom era, potters gathered in the Tsuboya area of Naha, but after the war, Yachimun no Sato or Pottery Village was created on a former U.S. military site. The climbing kiln in the center and the various potteries that surround it recreate a nostalgic scene of the Okinawa of days gone by.
