Uninhabited island with a circumference of 4 km, connected to Yakena Port by bridge. Has many cane fields and vegetation. The Janee-gama Caves (Janee Cave, Yabuchi Cave Ruins, and Yabuchi Grotto Ruins) on the island are worshipped as the birthplace of the ancestors. Okinawa’s oldest earthenware shards, from 6,000-7,000 years ago, were dug up here.
